The Head of the Presidential Council (PC) and Prime Minister of the UN-brokered Government of National Accord (GNA), Fayez Al-Serraj, has disclosed thar he is working with PC members to create an inclusive and comprehensive cabinet to be presented to the Tobruk-based House of Representatives (HoR)

The HoR rejected the cabinet presented to it by Al-Serraj in a meeting chaired by its Speaker, Aqilah Saleh last month.

In an interview with the French press, Al-Serraj expressed hope that the HoR will swiftly respond in a positive way to the work done by the PC in forming the new cabinet of the GNA.

“I hope that the HoR is going to endorse the GNA cabinet in the coming couple of weeks.” Al-Serraj indicated.

“There is no veto which we can use to ban any figute from participating in the new GNA cabinet or from holding a post in it. The door is open for all to join the new cabinet and work under the umbrella of the GNA political leadership.” Al-Serraj concluded.

Al-Serraj has been in France for a couple of days where he met French officials and the French President, François Hollande, who reiterated support for the GNA as the sole legitimate body in Libya.
