Al-Serraj: US will continue to strike IS militants in Sirte till thy are eradicated

The US Air Force will continue striking IS targets in Libya’s Sirte, supporting the country’s forces, Prime Minister of the Libyan Government of National Accord Fayez Al-Serraj told Sputnik.
According to the prime minister, the Libyan forces have achieved significant success in the fight against IS.
“US airstrikes are limited to IS strongholds within Sirte and its surroundings, and will continue for a certain period of time,” Al-Serraj said.
“We have good relations with Russia, we strive for cooperation in various fields,” Al-Serraj told Sputnik in an interview, adding that he had held a meeting with Russia’s ambassador to Libya.
“Recently, a group of high-ranking Libyan officials visited Russia. I could visit Russia in the near future,” he said.
