Libya’s newly-chosen prime minister has said that he expects to take office peacefully

The Speaker of the House of Representatives (HoR), Aqila Saleh, received on Monday, the parallel government’s Prime Minister, Fathi Bashagha, at his residence in the city of Al-Qubba.

Both sides discussed the latest political developments, the steps taken by the parallel government, and ways to provide services to citizens, according to a statement by HoR’s media office.

Bashagha confirmed during the first meeting of his cabinet in the city of Sabha, his intention to use peaceful and legal means to carry out his duties from Tripoli, in light of the refusal of the Prime Minister of the Government of National Unity, Abdel Hamid Dbeibah to hand over power.
