Dbeibah backs elections, rejects military rule in Libya

Libya’s Prime Minister Abdul Hamid Dbeibah has reaffirmed his government’s commitment to holding elections whilst explicitly opposing military governance, speaking at the Libyan Youth Forum in Misurata.
Addressing the gathering, Dbeibah emphasised the vital role of young people in Libya’s development and modernisation, outlining his government’s nationwide youth support initiatives.
These include the establishment of municipal youth councils and the creation of a youth parliament, measures designed to incorporate younger voices in policy-making.
“These steps ensure young people’s meaningful participation in decisions that affect their future,” Dbeibah said, highlighting his administration’s efforts to enhance youth capabilities across various sectors.
The prime minister’s remarks about elections and civilian rule come amid ongoing discussions about Libya’s political future and governance structure.
