Dbeibah and Greek foreign minister discuss strengthening Libya–Greece ties

The Prime Minister of Libya’s Government of National Unity, Abdul Hamid Dbeibah, has held talks with Greece’s Foreign Minister, Giorgos Gerapetritis, focusing on strengthening economic cooperation and deepening bilateral relations between the two countries.

The meeting took place on Monday at the Prime Minister’s office in Tripoli, where both sides reviewed avenues for enhancing collaboration across a range of sectors, according to a statement released by the government.

Discussions centred on expanding economic and trade partnerships, alongside broader efforts to reinforce ties between Libya and Greece. The two officials also addressed a number of regional developments, underlining the importance of continued coordination and dialogue in pursuit of shared interests.

In a separate engagement earlier in the day, the Greek foreign minister met with Libya’s acting foreign minister, Taher Al-Baour. Talks during that meeting focused on the work of the joint Libyan-Greek technical committee tasked with maritime border demarcation, as well as issues related to irregular migration and bilateral cooperation.

The meetings reflect ongoing diplomatic efforts between Tripoli and Athens to address key areas of mutual concern and strengthen institutional cooperation at both political and technical levels.
