EUBAM extends apology to Libya over representing it at WCO Conference

European Union Border Assistance Mission in Libya (EUBAM)

European Union Border Assistance Mission in Libya (EUBAM) has apologized to Libya over the representation of one of its advisors of Libya at the World Customs Organization (WCO) Conference in Brussels.

EUBAM’s Head of Mission Vincenzo Tagliaferri visited the Foreign Minister Mohammed Sayala in Tripoli and said “Libyans are the only ones who can represent Libya.”

Last week, an advisor from the EUBAM was seen sitting in Libya’s chair at the WCO Conference, which sparked anger among Libyan political figures and ordinary people.
