High Council of State discusses election challenges

Takala holds discussions on mediation efforts and constitutional consensus

The head of Libya’s High Council of State, Mohamed Takala, met a political mediation team in Tripoli to discuss recent developments in the country.

The meeting, held on Sunday at the council’s headquarters, focused on challenges facing the electoral process, as well as ongoing efforts to narrow differences between Libyan parties.

According to officials, the mediation team presented the outcomes of their recent contacts with a range of political actors across the country. They noted the High Council of State’s engagement in dialogue and its willingness to explore potential solutions to the current political situation.

Takala expressed the council’s support for mediation efforts aimed at building trust between parties and advancing national reconciliation.

He also underlined the importance of reaching a constitutional framework that would enable elections to take place.
