Interior minister orders probe into killing of Khansa Mujahid

Libya’s Minister of Interior in the Government of National Unity, Emad Al-Trabelsi, has ordered security agencies to open an urgent investigation into the killing of Libyan content creator Khansa Mujahid, who was shot dead on Saturday evening in Tripoli.
In a directive sent to the Criminal Investigation Department and the Security Directorates of Tripoli and Janzour, Al-Trabelsi instructed the formation of a joint task force to conduct searches, gather evidence and identify the perpetrators.
Mujahid was killed in the Al-Sarraj district in western Tripoli after coming under fire from unidentified gunmen, according to local sources. Videos shared on social media showed the victim lying motionless on the ground after succumbing to her injuries. The motive behind the attack remains unknown, and no group has claimed responsibility.
A witness who appeared in a video circulating online said the victim attempted to escape by stepping out of her vehicle when the shooting began. He added that her car remained running for around an hour and a half after her death.
Khansa Mujahid was well known among women’s communities on social-media platforms for her beauty, fashion and lifestyle content, and had built a significant following in recent years.
