Iran says it targeted US-linked sites in Jordan, Kuwait and Bahrain

Iran’s military has announced that it carried out a series of strikes on what it described as strategic sites linked to United States forces in Jordan, Kuwait and Bahrain, in response to recent attacks on Iranian infrastructure.

In a statement issued on Friday, labelled communiqué number 53, the Iranian army said the operations targeted “vital objectives” associated with US forces and facilities providing logistical support.

According to the statement, the strikes in Jordan focused on locations used to store equipment and house US personnel. In Kuwait, the Iranian military said it targeted the deployment site of a mechanised battalion belonging to a US armoured brigade at Camp Arifjan, a major logistical hub for armoured and infantry units.

The statement also claimed that a strike was carried out in Bahrain against the Alba aluminium plant, which Iran described as a strategic partner supporting US defence-related industries.

Tehran said the attacks were a direct response to what it called recent strikes on Iranian industrial infrastructure, including steel facilities in Isfahan and Khuzestan, as well as a key bridge in the city of Karaj.

The Iranian military warned that any further attacks would be met with what it described as a “compound response” exceeding the expectations of its adversaries.

Separately, on Thursday, a spokesperson for Iran’s Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters said that the 90th wave of operations under the banner “True Promise 4” had targeted US-linked steel and aluminium industries in Abu Dhabi and Bahrain. The spokesperson said the operation involved joint action by the aerospace and naval forces of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps.

The announcement comes amid heightened regional tensions, with Iran accusing the United States and Israel of carrying out sustained attacks on civilian areas and infrastructure, including educational and service facilities. Tehran has responded by targeting US military positions in the region, as well as locations in Israeli-held territories.
