Iran says new wave targeted US bases and Israeli sites

Iran has announced the launch of the 86th wave of its military campaign, known as Operation True Promise 4, targeting what it described as American and Israeli-linked positions across the region.
The statement was delivered by Colonel Ebrahim Zolfaghari, spokesperson for Iran’s central Khatam al-Anbiya Headquarters, who said the operation forms part of what he called the “ongoing battles” of the Iranian armed forces.
According to the statement, the multi-phase operation was carried out by the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps’ aerospace and naval units, involving a large-scale missile barrage alongside coordinated drone swarms.
Tehran said the first phase targeted air operation infrastructure, drone facilities and weapons depots at US-linked bases, including Victory base in Iraq, Arifjan in Kuwait and Al Kharj in Saudi Arabia.
It added that subsequent strikes targeted what it described as American shelters, Israeli facilities and positions linked to the Kurdish opposition group Komala. These reportedly extended from Arad and the Negev to Tel Aviv, as well as locations including the US Fifth Fleet, Al Dhafra air base in the United Arab Emirates and Erbil.
Iran also claimed that a strategic E-3 Sentry (AWACS) aircraft used for airborne command and control had been completely destroyed at Al Kharj, following an earlier strike on a refuelling aircraft at the same base. The claim has not been independently verified.
In addition, Iranian officials said air defences intercepted and shot down two Orbiter drones near Khorramabad, and destroyed another hostile drone east of the Strait of Hormuz.
The statement further claimed that Iranian army drones targeted support facilities and accommodation for US forces at Azraq air base in Jordan, describing it as a key operational hub for missions against Iran.
Zolfaghari said images showing wreckage, smoke and explosions in the targeted areas had undermined what he described as attempts by US-aligned governments and media outlets in the region to limit coverage of the attacks.
He warned that the use of regional territory or airspace by the United States to launch operations against Iran would expose American bases across the region to further strikes.
Iran concluded by saying its armed forces, backed by public support, would continue responding with what it described as “more forceful and crushing” attacks, stressing that the country is now “stronger and more advanced than ever before”.
