Italy persuades Haftar into supporting GNA

The Italian News Agency, Aki, unveiled Tuesday that Italy is exerting huge efforts to try and persuade Khalifa Haftar, the leader of Dignity Operation (Karama), into recognizing the Government of National Accord (GNA).
In a Rome-hosted forum Tuesday, the Italian Minister of Foreign Affairs Paolo Gentiloni said that Italy had been working for days to urge Haftar and his loyal force to endorse and recognize the GNA.
“What has been done in Libya so far is pretty much promising, yet Libya still has a lot to go in the political process.” Gentiloni indicated.
