Kyiv denies supplying drones, training to Libyan forces

Ukraine has strongly rejected Russian allegations that it supplied drones and military trainers to Libya and other African countries to coordinate attacks.
In a statement relayed by the Ukrainian Embassy in Libya, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs described the claims as “false and entirely unfounded,” framing them as part of a coordinated disinformation campaign by Moscow.
The ministry accused Russia of attempting to deflect attention from its own actions, including the deployment of mercenaries, the looting of African resources, and efforts to destabilise the region.
The allegations, reported by Russian state media, claimed that Libya’s Government of National Unity (GNU) had used Ukrainian-made drones to target Russian forces stationed in areas under the control of Khalifa Haftar.
Russian outlets also alleged that Kyiv supplied Libya with Mavic 3 drones fitted with Ukrainian launch systems and was training Libyan personnel to operate them.
The Ukrainian Embassy has categorically denied the accusations, calling them another example of Russia’s “information warfare” tactics aimed at influencing public opinion in Africa and beyond.
