Libya and Algeria bolster customs cooperation
Libya and Algeria have signed new customs agreements following Joint Committee meetings, advancing efforts to modernise border operations and combat smuggling along their shared frontier.
The Libyan Customs Authority announced that the agreements will enhance anti-smuggling measures, streamline customs procedures, and facilitate technical expertise exchange between the nations.
The accord represents the latest step in growing economic cooperation between the neighbouring countries, who share a 982-kilometre border and mutual security interests in the region.
Both parties committed to implementing the provisions to support regional stability and development. The meetings, which began Monday, mark increasing bilateral efforts to strengthen economic integration.
