Libya backs Saudi efforts to foster dialogue and stability in Yemen

Libya’s Government of National Unity has welcomed Saudi Arabia’s efforts to help create a “conducive environment” for dialogue aimed at addressing Yemen’s long-standing political divisions.
In an official statement, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs praised the initiative put forward by the head of Yemen’s Presidential Leadership Council to convene a conference bringing together southern Yemeni political and social components, under Saudi auspices.
The ministry said Libya values Riyadh’s role in facilitating dialogue and supporting regional de-escalation, stressing that such initiatives contribute to opening pathways towards a comprehensive political settlement in Yemen.
The statement reaffirmed Libya’s full support for all regional and international efforts aimed at achieving peace and stability in Yemen, and reiterated Libya’s longstanding position that political solutions and dialogue remain the only viable means of resolving conflicts.
