Bangladeshi medics praised as Libya pledges improved employment terms

Libya’s Minister of Transport and Financial Adviser to the Prime Minister, Mohammed Al-Shahoubi, held talks with the Bangladeshi Ambassador to Libya on Tuesday to discuss the employment status of Bangladeshi medical support staff working across Libya’s public healthcare sector.

According to the Government of National Unity’s official Hakomitna Facebook page, the meeting was attended by Secretary-General of the Ministry of Health, Mohamed Al-Ghawj, and followed the recent approval of new financial regulations for foreign workers in the country.

Al-Shahoubi praised the contribution of Bangladeshi medical teams to Libyan hospitals and health facilities, emphasising his commitment to ensuring timely payment of salaries and entitlements. He noted that regularising employment terms would help stabilise their work and improve healthcare delivery for Libyan citizens.
