Libya reaffirms position on Israel amid diplomatic discourse

Libya’s Acting Foreign Minister Taher Al-Baour has stated that Libya maintains no relations with Israel and sees no reason to establish them, in remarks made to Al Jazeera.
During the interview, Al-Baour outlined Libya’s opposition to actions in Gaza and reaffirmed support for Palestinians. He also discussed regional diplomatic developments, including plans regarding the Syrian embassy in Tripoli.
These statements follow former Foreign Minister Najla Al-Mangoush’s recent disclosure on Al Jazeera’s “Athir” podcast about previous diplomatic contacts.
The Acting Foreign Minister emphasised his government’s sole authority in international agreements and position on foreign military presence.
