Libya rejects reports of diplomatic departures

The Libyan Government of Unity’s Foreign Ministry strongly refuted reports on Wednesday claiming that diplomatic missions were evacuating the capital, dismissing them as baseless rumours amid heightened regional attention on Libya’s political stability.
“All foreign diplomatic missions accredited in Tripoli continue their normal operations,” the Ministry said in an official statement, directly challenging circulating reports about alleged diplomatic departures to Tunisia.
The statement emphasised that any diplomatic movement requires coordination with the General Protocol Department, suggesting that no such large-scale departures had been processed through official channels.
“These reports are completely false,” a ministry spokesperson said, adding that the ministry maintains an open channel for media enquiries to combat misinformation.
