Libyan forces gear up to root out IS from last hideouts in Sirte
The Libyan forces led by Misurata brigades and appointed by the UN-brokered Government of National Accord (GNA) have been in the pursuit of achieving their target of eradicating IS radicals as they launched an offensive on Friday aiming at the last couple of nooks inside which IS militants are holing up.
“The Campo neighbourhood is about to fall for our forces and thus IS will be left with tow options, die or surrender.” Mohammed Al-Ajnaf, a field doctor in Sirte indicated.
Dr. Al-Ajnaf added that so far on Friday the Libyan forces lost 14 fighters while more than 20 others were injured.
“Liberation is drawing nigh, our air force today paved the way for the ground troops to advance into the last hideouts of IS militants.” He reaffirmed.
