Man arrested in Al-Ajilat over alleged trafficking of Lyrica tablets

Libya’s Anti-Narcotics and Psychotropic Substances Agency has announced the arrest of a suspected drug dealer in the western city of Al-Ajilat, following intelligence reports about his alleged activities.
According to a statement issued by the agency, officers from the Sabratha Investigations Office launched an operation after receiving information indicating suspicious behaviour linked to the Libyan national.
During the arrest, security officers reportedly found 290 tablets suspected to be the psychotropic drug “Lyrica” (pregabalin) in the suspect’s possession.
Authorities confirmed that the necessary legal procedures have been taken against the individual, who has been referred to the Anti-Narcotics Prosecution Office for further investigation.
The agency reiterated its commitment to intensifying efforts to combat drug trafficking and the spread of psychotropic substances, which authorities say pose a growing threat to public health and social stability.
