Martin Kobler denounces killing of civilians, assassinations in Benghazi
The Head of the UNSMIL and the UN delegate to Libya, Martin Kobler, said killing 10 people in cold blood and then tossing them into a landfill is absolutely a heinous crime.
Kobler said late on Saturday that the perpetrators must be held accountable and must be brought to justice, calling for an immediate investigation.
“I was dazzled when I heard that 10 bodies were found in a landfill with signs of torture and with their hands and feet tied.” Kobler indicated.

Kobler also condemned the killing of the Head of the Anti-Corruption Organisation in Benghazi Mohammed Abu Gayages, who was killed by an explosion of a booby-trapped car in Benghazi’s Al-Keesh square.
“Those who made up the explosion to kill Abu Gayages should be brought to justice in no time.” Kobler concluded.
