Menfi underscores solidarity with Sudan during Tripoli talks

The head of Libya’s Presidential Council, Mohamed Menfi, has reaffirmed the country’s support for Sudan, pledging continued efforts to help alleviate humanitarian suffering and strengthen bilateral cooperation.
The remarks were made during a meeting held in Tripoli on Sunday with Sudan’s Foreign Minister, Mohi El-Din Salem Ahmed, and his accompanying delegation.
During the talks, the Sudanese minister conveyed greetings from Sudan’s army chief and head of the Transitional Sovereignty Council, Abdel Fattah al-Burhan. He also welcomed the return of the headquarters of the Community of Sahel-Saharan States to Tripoli, describing the move as a reflection of Libya’s renewed regional role and growing political influence across Africa.
Discussions further focused on the situation of Sudanese nationals in Libya, including those displaced by the ongoing conflict in their home country.
In this context, the Sudanese foreign minister expressed his government’s appreciation for Libya’s humanitarian support. Menfi, for his part, highlighted the depth of relations between the two countries and stressed the importance of continued coordination to advance shared interests.
The meeting forms part of ongoing diplomatic engagement between Libya and Sudan, as both countries seek to address humanitarian challenges and reinforce cooperation at both bilateral and regional levels.
