The Misurata forces appointed under the command of Albunyan Almarsous – the military operation of the joint operations room formed by the Presidential Council – have shelled earlier the Al-Khamseen checkpoint, 50 km from Sirte.
The shelling came to pave the way for the forces of Albunyan Almarsous to advance toward Sirte and take hold of Al-Khamseen checkpoint.
“We have thwarted an attack by a booby-trapped truck this Thursday morning by ISIS militias, which were desperately trying to push us away from their stronghold in Sirte.” Sources from Misurata forces reported.
