Misurata International Airport resumes Istanbul flights
Turkish Airlines reintroduces thrice-weekly service following rigorous safety inspections

Misurata International Airport has officially resumed direct flights to Istanbul, with Turkish Airlines relaunching the route for the first time in a decade.
The inaugural flight is set to depart this evening at 7:00 p.m., marking a significant milestone in Libya’s efforts to restore international air connectivity.
The airline will now operate three weekly flights—on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays—between Misurata and Istanbul, one of the region’s busiest transport hubs.
Flights on this route were suspended in 2015 amid instability in western Libya. The resumption follows a comprehensive security inspection by a Turkish civil aviation team earlier this year to ensure the airport’s compliance with international aviation standards.
