NCHRL urges Operation Dignity to release of BMC medical staff
The National Commission for Human Rights in Libya (NCHRL) urged Dignity Operation in Benghazi to release the medical staffers from Benghazi Medical Center who are detained at the Criminal Investigation Department in the city.
An official at the NCHRL, Ahmed Hamza, said that the 18 medical staffers have organized a hunger strike in their detention to protest their arrest.
The Public Prosecution of Benghazi freed Friday a number of Benghazi Medical Center’s officials after interrogations that lasted a whole day over the complaints of negligence and violations in the medical center.
Criminal Investigation Department of Operation Dignity said it had arrested officials from the Benghazi Medical Center to investigate the healthcare negligence.
