Russian Ambassador to Libya meets with GNA Defence Minister

The Defence Minister of the Government of National Accord (GNA) Mahdi Al-Barghathi met with the Russian Ambassador to Libya on Monday in Tripoli.
The two officials talked about Russia’s role in cooperating with the GNA on military levels, according to the media office of the Defence Ministry.
“Russia is ready to expand its support on the military level for the GNA.” The Russian Ambassador was cited as saying.
According to the media office, Al-Barghathi will soon visit Moscow to discuss the mechanisms for cooperation with Russia.
Earlier last month, Khalifa Haftar, the eastern region’s military leader and commander of HoR-backed Operation Dignity visited Moscow and met with Defence and Foreign Ministers looking for military support for his forces in his self-proclaimed war on terror.
