Saudi Arabia detains a third Libyan national from Al-Zawiya city
A Libyan national from Al-Zawiya city in western Libya was detained in Jeddah Airport by Saudi Arabian police on Thursday, according to local Libyan media.
The person – Hassan Zaayet – is the third Libyan national to be arrested in less than two weeks by Saudi Arabia.
According to the sources, Hassan was trying to return his brother’s family back from Saudia Arabia after they finished Umrah.
His brother, Hussein Zaayet, is taking refuge at the Libyan Embassy in Jeddah because Saudi police want to arrest him and detain him like the two others.
Two Al-Zawiya police staffers, Mahmoud Ben Rajab and Mohammed Hussein, were detained by Saudi Arabia and no details were given about why they were arrested.
