SSA: Man arrested over seizure of cocaine
Cocaine with an estimated value of $30,000 has been seized by Libya’s Stability Support Apparatus (SSA) in Dhiba Wazen border crossing between Libya and Tunisia on Tuesday evening.
A man in his late 30s was arrested after SSA received sources of information about the presence of a Libyan citizen who traffics drugs and smuggles them into Tunisia.
About 1 kilo of suspected cocaine were found during the operation.
Other drug Hallucinogenic (14,475 pills) were also discovered. Hallucinogens are a diverse group of drugs that alter a person’s awareness of their surroundings as well as their own thoughts and feelings.
After investigation and inference by SSA, the arrested man confessed that he had a long history of involvement in contraband and drug trafficking.
Appropriate legal measures were taken and the seizure was referred to the Prosecution for disposition.
