Tunisian Army opens fire on smugglers at border with Libya

The Tunisian Army forces exchanged fire with a number of armed smugglers in 10 Libyan cars stuffed with foods commodities after they crossed the border illegally.
The spokesperson of the Tunisian Defense Ministry, Belhassan Al-Wasilati, told Tunisia-Africa News Agency that the Libyan cars crossed the border at about 11:30 am on Monday, before they got intercepted by the Tunisian forces.
Al-Wasilati explained that the one of the cars, which had arms inside, fired back at the Tunisian Army personnel before they pulled out back to the Libyan side of the border.
It is worth mentioning that the smuggling trend is very common on the Libyan-Tunisian border and every now and then an incident of arrest or fire exchange takes place.
