UN mission to publish electoral findings in stages

A source within the Media Advisory Committee has indicated that the UN mission will release an executive summary of its findings on Libya’s electoral framework in phases.
The mission plans to share these findings first with relevant stakeholders before making them available to the public.
According to the source, the mission has decided to establish the Advisory Committee as a permanent consultative body that can be convened whenever necessary, rather than defining a specific term or set of tasks for the committee.
The mission announced last week that the Advisory Committee had completed its work and submitted its final report. The report contains options and recommendations for addressing contentious issues within Libya’s current electoral framework.
In keeping with its stated commitment to transparency, the mission confirmed its intention to publish the executive summary of the Advisory Committee’s findings.
Since its members were appointed in early February, the Advisory Committee has conducted a series of meetings in both Tripoli and Benghazi.
These meetings have focused on resolving disputed elements of the electoral framework, including consultations with members of the 6+6 Committee from both the House of Representatives and the High Council of State regarding electoral legislation.
