UNHCR documents 240.000 Libyan IDPs

The United Nations High Commissioner of Refugees (UNHCR) has documented about 240.000 Libyan internally displaced persons (IDPs) from June 24 to August 012017.

The UNHCR said in a monthly report on Libya this Friday, it had only received 23% of the scheduled funds allocated by UN Development Fund for migrants in Libya, adding that the sum allocated for the program was about 75.5 million dollars in total.

The UNHCR also documented the return of 250.000 Libyan IDPs to their cities since the start of 2017.

While it documented as well the arrival of over 95.000 illegal immigrants to Italy through Libya in the same period.
