UNHCR: Over 57000 refugees and asylums seekers registered in Libya

UNHCR said on Monday that as of 3 December 2018, a total of 57,398 asylum seekers and refugees have been registered in Libya.
The UNHCR added that a total of 3,616 individuals have been identified by UNHCR and its partners to be currently in one of the accessible Libyan detention centres.
“Since the start of the evacuation operation from Libya in late 2017, a total of 2,476 persons (including unaccompanied children) have been evacuated to Niger (2,069), Italy (312) and the ETC Romania (95). There are 259 evacuated unaccompanied children remaining in Niger.” UNHCR explained in a statement.
