US ends its support airstrikes on IS militants in Libya’s Sirte

The US conducted by the US Africa Command (AFRICOM) Africa announced the end of its airstrikes mission in Sirte after three months.

The mission, dubbed Odyssey Lightning Operation, saw the US carry out over 367 air attacks on Is militants and positions in Sirte to help in the fight to liberate the city from them which was kicked off by the GNA’s militarily operation Al-Bunyan Al-Marsous last May.

The US Odyssey Lightning Operation was kicked off on August 01 and continued for three consecutive months.
