Ceasefire reached in Tripoli’s Abu Salim after deadly clashes

After two days of violent clashes in Abu Salim district in Tripoli, the elders and notables and the intervention of the Libyan National Guard led to an agreement on a ceasefire.

The ceasefire was reached Friday night and the two warring armed groups of Ghaniwa and Burki agreed on it and withdrew their heavily armed vehicles and forces from Abu Salim streets.

The Red Cresent helped recover trapped families from the clashes and reportedly helped recover injuries from both sides.

According to conflicting news, ten people were killed in the deadly clashes.
