Gunmen attack Libya’s Defence Minister’s house, Al-Sirraj condemns

On Friday dawn, three cars stopped by the house of the Defence Minister of the Libyan Government of National Accord (GNA) Al-Mihdi Al-Barghathi in Janzour district in Tripoli and fired RPGs and machine gunshots.
The gunmen fled immediately after targeting the house with RPGs and gunfire, according to the media office of the GNA’s Defence Minister.
A video was posted on social media showing the moment the gunmen attacked the house.
Later after the attack, Al-Barghathi issued a statement saying it was a flagrant attack at the security and safety of his family and himself.
The Head of the Presidential Council, Fayez Al-Sirraj, issued a statement as well condemning the attack, saying it was an act of cowardice and aims to destabilize the country.
The statement promised to probe the attack and bring the criminals to justice.
