Misurata Red Crescent Office denies links to fabricated stories about Sudanese torture video
Najib told the Libyan News that he had not heard about or seen the videos on social media, but “some media outlets are trying to make a mountain out of a mole hill.”
“Some media outlets put words in my mouth about the torture of the Sudanese nationals and extortion for money: I have never said such things.” He explained.
He added that a Sudanese newspaper contacted him and asked about the issue then fabricated a statement, which he denied.
“I will file a lawsuit against the media outlets via the Libyan interior ministry and the foreign ministry for their lies.” He indicated.
A video showing two Sudanese persons being tortured was all over the social media and media outlets in Libya, with many condemning the act as inhumane and non-Libyan.
