Benghazi and Jordan universities deepen academic and research ties

The University of Benghazi and the University of Jordan have signed a cooperation agreement aimed at strengthening postgraduate programmes and advancing joint scientific research.
The agreement seeks to enhance academic collaboration between the two institutions through the exchange of expertise, with a particular focus on scientific and medical disciplines. It also aims to support research initiatives that contribute to improving the quality of higher education and reinforcing long-term academic partnerships.
The deal was signed during an official meeting between the President of the University of Benghazi, Ezzedine Al-Dersi, and the President of the University of Jordan, Nadhir Obeidat, attended by the University of Jordan’s Vice President, Ashraf Abu Karki.
Discussions focused on expanding cooperation in postgraduate studies, facilitating the exchange of academic staff and students, and coordinating joint academic programmes in key fields, including medicine, pharmacy and engineering.
Both sides underlined the importance of academic partnerships in strengthening scientific research, developing educational outcomes and fostering closer ties between Libyan and Jordanian higher education institutions.
