Al-Jumhuriya Bank director manager abducted, branches close in strike

Al-Jumhuriya Bank branches went on strike Tuesday all over Libya to protest the kidnapping of the director manager, Nuri Abu Flaijah and two other bank officials that took place Monday in Tripoli.
The kidnappers, who remain unidentified till now, abducted the bank’s officials from their offices in Al-Sreem street.
Given the current cash crisis and lack of liquidity in banks all over Libya, the decision to close and be on strike until Abu Fraijah is released might worsen the living conditions a bit too much more that they are currently.
