Al-Menfi receives the Italian Minister for Foreign Affairs and his delegation

Head of Libya's Presidential Council welcomed the the Italian Minister for Foreign Affairs in the capital of Tripoli on an official visit

Mohamed Al-Menfi, the Head of the Presidential Council, met with Italian Foreign Minister Luigi Di Maio this morning in Tripoli.

The meeting discussed a number of issues, the most important of which was carrying out the electoral elections at the end of the current year, with the Head of the Council emphasizing the importance of resolving the issue of the legal framework for elections and reaching an agreement on one of the proposals for holding elections on time.

Al-Menfi also emphasized the significance of cooperation and the development of Libyan-Italian ties, especially in the fields of investment, commerce, and economy.

In response, Italian Foreign Minister Luigi Di Maio hailed the coastal road’s inauguration, saying that this visit comes only days after the road’s opening, highlighting the importance of this significant milestone.

Di Maio praised the Presidential Council’s efforts over the last year on all of the responsibilities assigned to it, especially on reconciliation and the unity of State institutions.

The Italian Minister also emphasized his country’s readiness to collaborate and work with Libya in a variety of economic, commercial, and other sectors, especially in Libya’s south.
