Aqilah Saleh fears not EU sanctions, Cyrenaica backs him up and vows to split over Serraj power claims
“I have no assets outside Libya, so those EU sanctions wouldn’t be as effective.” Said the President of Tobruk Parliament, Aqilah Saleh in a televised statement.
Saleh said that he and other eastern political and social figures as well as Tobruk MPs said Serraj government assumption of power in Tripoli is not legitimate as it has not yet received the necessary vote of confidence by Tobruk Parliament.
He added that all of the Tobruk MPs consider such sanctions a violation of the countries sovereignty and call on Serraj government to take endorsement from the parliament to be able to operate its work.
