The discussion focused on expediting efforts to conduct elections without further delay. According to Bathily’s tweet, the leaders also agreed to intensify efforts to foster hope and reconciliation among Libyans. Among them are leaders of the 5+5 Joint Military Commission and commanders of military and security units from across the country.
“To achieve peace and stability, we agreed not to spare any effort to promote hope and reconciliation among Libyans, including the leaders of the Joint Military Committee and commanders of military and security units from across Libya,” Batelli said.
According to the UN envoy, “Aguila” and “Haftar” have reaffirmed their commitment to organising free and fair elections and working towards national reconciliation in Libya.
