Two car bombs were detonated on Saturday night in Derna at locations held by Awliya Al-Dam (Blood Owners) Brigade of Khalifa Haftar’s Operation Dignity in eastern Libya.

According to local media, the two blasts led to injuries among the brigade’s fighters. The media estimated that over 15 persons had been wounded.

No party has yet claimed the two explosions that rocked the city of Derna before Sunday dawn.

Derna has been controlled by the forces of Khalifa Haftar since last summer after they had warred for over two years with the local revolutionaries and fighters of Derna Shura Council, who managed in 2015 to rid their city of ISIS.
