Dbeibah and Takala hold talks on economy and political coordination

Prime Minister Abdul Hamid Dbeibah met Mohamed Takala, head of the High Council of State, on Wednesday for talks that brought together Libya’s economic priorities and its evolving political landscape.
The meeting, held at the Prime Ministry in Tripoli, focused on the government’s unified development programme, which officials see as central to improving economic conditions. Discussions explored ways to channel spending more effectively into development projects, encourage production and make better use of state resources.
At the heart of the conversation was the question of stability. Officials pointed to the need to strengthen the Libyan dinar, particularly in the face of continued pressure from foreign currencies, and framed economic management as a key part of that effort.
Both sides also emphasised the importance of maintaining close coordination between state institutions. In a system often marked by fragmentation, they described consultation and cooperation as necessary steps towards keeping the political process moving and ensuring that policy decisions are aligned.
The meeting underscored a broader effort by Libyan authorities to connect economic reform with political progress, at a time when public expectations remain closely tied to improvements in services, stability and everyday living conditions.
