Tunisia begins preparations for trans-African corridor with Libya
Tunisian Trade Minister Samir Abid has announced the start of preparations for a trans-African land crossing project, in coordination with the Libyan side, aimed at linking North Africa with countries in sub-Saharan Africa.
The project is expected to run through the Ras Ajdir border crossing between Libya and Tunisia, forming a key gateway for the proposed overland route.
The corridor is set to extend towards several countries, with a particular focus on Niger, Chad, Mali, Burkina Faso and the Central African Republic.
The announcement highlights ongoing coordination between Tunisia and Libya to enhance cross-border connectivity via Ras Ajdir, as both sides seek to strengthen links with African countries south of the Sahara.
