Earthquake hits northwestern Iran, one person killed

An earthquake measuring 5.2 on the Richter scale jolted north-western Iran on Monday.
The Geophysics Institute Seismology center at Tehran University said the tremor was registered at 09:16 local time in Parsabad in the north-western Ardabil province.
One person was reportedly killed and two others were injured in the quake, according to Iran’s Tasnim News Agency.
