Federica Mogherini: EU officially agreed to train Libyan Coast Guard
The High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy and Vice-President of the European Commission, Federica Mogherini, announced on Twitter Monday that the EU Sophia Operation will start training the Libyan Navy and Coast Guard forces.
The EU will help the Libyan Navy and Coast Guard forces protect their sea and land borders against the growing numbers of immigrants crossing the Libyan coast to Italy.
