Libya’s oil revenues reach $2.82bn in April

Oil output tops 41 million barrels as Libya records $2.82bn in April income

Libya’s National Oil Corporation (NOC) has announced that total oil revenues collected and transferred to the sovereign account at the Libyan Foreign Bank reached $2.82bn in April 2026.

In a statement, the NOC said that part of this amount will be deducted to cover fuel import payments processed through the Libyan Foreign Bank, in line with an existing agreement. The remaining balance, estimated at $1.91bn, is to be transferred to the Central Bank of Libya.

The corporation added that revenues generated from royalties and taxes on concession agreements, collected on behalf of the Ministry of Oil, amounted to approximately LYD 2.86bn during the same period.

On production, the NOC reported that total crude oil output for April exceeded 41.6 million barrels. Of this, more than 35 million barrels were attributed to the Libyan state, while crude exports reached 30.8 million barrels.

Natural gas production also remained significant, with total output surpassing 62.6 billion cubic feet over the course of the month.

The latest figures underline the continued importance of the hydrocarbons sector to Libya’s public finances, despite ongoing economic and institutional challenges.
