Libya’s Presidential Council launches new anti-IS military operation

The Libyan Presidential Council (PC) of the Government of National Accord announced Monday the launch of a new military operation to combat IS militants in their remaining hideouts in the Libyan desert.
The spokesman for the PC’s Head, Mohammed El Sallak, said in a press conference on Monday that the operation (The Storm of the Nation) will be covering areas from eastern Misurata to Al-Khumus.
IS militants were defeated in Sirte in 2016 by Al-Bunyan Al-Marsous operation with an air cover by US AFRICOM.
