One man gunned down trying to steal helicopter in Oregon, US
One person was shot and killed at an airport outside of Portland, Oregon, on Monday morning after authorities said the person attempted to steal a helicopter from the airfield, according to multiple reports.
Hillsboro police Lt. Henry Reimann told OregonLive.com that authorities were called around 11:40 a.m. to reports of shots fired at the Hillsboro Airport.
Airport employees told KATU that they heard shots fired at the airport and that someone tried to steal a helicopter from the airport.
Police confirmed to OregonLive.com that a person was killed after running onto a nearby field during an apparent attempt to steal a helicopter.
The person was not immediately identified.
