Tripoli hosts TESOL conference on education and workforce skills

A conference focused on English language education and academic cooperation was held in Tripoli as Libyan officials and representatives of the United States discussed educational development and skills-building initiatives.
The event, titled “American English in Libya – TESOL Conference on Advancing Skills for a Stronger Economy”, brought together government officials, education specialists and representatives of the US Embassy in Libya.
Discussions addressed support for English language programmes and educational capacity-building efforts aimed at improving learning outcomes and linking education to labour market needs in Libya.
The conference was attended by Education Minister Mohammed Al-Quriyo, Higher Education and Scientific Research Minister Mohammed Al-Dbeib, Minister of State for Prime Minister and Cabinet Affairs Mohammed Bin Ghalboun, and Head of the Executive Team for Presidential Initiatives and Strategic Projects Mustafa Al-Manea.
Participants also discussed academic exchange programmes and opportunities for cooperation between educational institutions in Libya and the United States.
Speakers highlighted the importance of international cooperation in education and its role in supporting students, researchers and academic institutions, as well as contributing to broader development efforts in the country.
