UK renews support for Libya’s energy sector during NOC delegation visit

The British Embassy Tripoli has announced the arrival of what it described as the largest delegation from Libya’s National Oil Corporation to visit the British capital, London, in a move aimed at strengthening bilateral cooperation in the energy sector.
According to a statement published by the embassy on Facebook, the delegation is headed by NOC Chairman Masoud Suleiman and includes more than 30 senior officials representing the corporation’s main departments and subsidiary companies.
The embassy said the visit forms part of broader efforts to deepen Libyan-British relations and explore new opportunities for cooperation and partnership, particularly in the fields of energy and investment.
Separately, Hamish Falconer confirmed that he had held talks in the United Kingdom with Masoud Suleiman on a range of economic and investment-related issues concerning Libya.
Falconer said discussions included support for Libya’s unified budget agreement, as well as opportunities for British companies to expand investment in Libya, especially within the oil and gas sector.
The British minister also stressed that strengthening Libya’s state institutions remains central to efforts aimed at promoting long-term security and stability in Libya and across the wider North African region.
